St.Patricks Day Cupcakes

My dear friend, Lynn Bullen pinched me this morning for not wearing green:)
I told her that I made "green" cupcakes & that should count:) haha
I made these last night while trying to listen to American Idol.
I couldn't think of anything to use as a cute topper, then thought of making my own.
White Chocolate shamrocks---"SWEET"!!!!! and OH SO YUMMY:)

YouthAct/InterAct Convention 2010

The YouthAct/InterAct convention was held last weekend in Pigeon Forge, TN. Both WCMS & WCHS attend this annual event. Even though they stay in different hotels, they still get to "hang-out" on Saturday night to watch the talent competition:) CONGRATS to WCHS for getting 1st place!!! Salem said you all "ROCKED" & it was an "AWESOME" performance:) WayToGO!!!

Thanks to Ms.Dorinda Walker whom escorted my child for the entire weekend:) I really appreciate everything she did & had to put up with:) She's a trooper & I "wuv" her:)

Salem is going to miss YouthAct. He has been in the club since 6th grade, and will hate not participating next year at the high school. That "stinks" that they don't offer it to 9th graders:(

Anyway, I think everyone had a great weekend, Salem had a blast and from the looks of the pics, everyone else did too:)

Even though I totally forgot to pack a tie for the banquet(I am such a loser)-, I still think Salem & the boys look very handsome:)

One project & One GREAT deal!!!

Since the weather was absolutely wonderful yesterday, I had to get outside......if not but just for a little while:)
I had this birdhouse I had been wanting to paint for, oh......probably over a year now. So I did it!!! It was originally a pale sage color, but I loved the shade of this blue spray paint I found at Lowes---not to mention it matches my new bedding perfectly:) I plan on putting the birdhouse beside the bed on the nightstand, maybe with some books and a cute lamp:)
Oh yeah, about the bedding. I painted my bedroom a brownish color, actually it's called "Craftpaper", and wanted to get this bedding at JCPENNY when I saw an ad in Country Living & fell in love with it! My SIL Darlene actually painted hers almost the same color and went ahead and got this same bedding, not knowing I wanted it too! Anyway, after seeing hers and crying, hahahaha, no really I did, I decided I wouldn't get the same thing. Anyway, when we were in Murfreesboro a couple of weeks ago, I was walking around in JCPENNY's looking for sheets and stumbled across it---the complete bedding set(comforter,bed skirt, & 2 pillow shams)---and guess what---it was over half price:) I LOVE A GOOD BARGAIN:) It had originally been priced $270.00, but was marked down to $129.99:) Yay-Rah:)
So, I guess the saying, "good things come to those who wait" really is true:) hahahaha

COME ON GIRLS.............

Ok, on my last post, I probably should have explained myself a little more clearly. When I ask if "ALL QUEENIES" would submit recipes, I wasn't talking about "just QueensforaCure" members, even though the cookbook will be a "tribute" to our "QUEENIES".

To me, all my friends and family, "ladies & girlies" are queenies!!!

All women to me are considered to be a queen in some sort of a definition. You may be the queen of your home, queen of the car-pool, queen of the work-force, queen of the remote(which that rarely ever happens), but whatever you do, if you are a woman, to me, therefore, You are a Queen!!!
I have been wanting to do a cookbook for such a long time, and finally began working on it this year. Not only will it include QUEENSFORACURE members recipes, I want recipes from all the wonderfully talented ladies in our community!!! The book will feature SPECIAL TRIBUTE SECTIONS with photos, and short-stories---some will make you laugh, some will make you cry:)
The categories are:
* CROWN" Specialities (heirloom family recipes passed down through the years)
* Appetizers
* Beverages
* Breads
* Cheese, Eggs, Rice & Pasta
* Soups & Sandwiches
* Vegetables
* Main Dish Casseroles
* Meats
* Poultry
* Game & Seafood
* Cakes & Frostings, Scratch & Mix
* Pies & Pastries
* Desserts
* Cookies, Candy Bars & Squares
* Preserves & Relishes
* KINGS can cook too---off the grill!
* Extras

If you have a recipe, and would like to submit it, please email me at the address below:

I am so hoping to possibly get this finished, so we can debut it on Relay night!

**Special thanks again to Ms.Kelly McClain-Roberts for the wonderful painting!**

Salem is "14".....

I can't believe it.....it's almost depressing:)
Seriously, I am slipping into something, or maybe it's because it seems I've been couped up in this house for days......feels more like months:)
I need sunshine, so does my legs:)

Anyway, today is Salem's 14Th birthday. Seems like only yesterday, Sissy Alison was going "Mach-3" up Charles Creek hill, and I was just laid back for the ride:)
I think Alison and my Mom were more nervous than I was. I was "tripping" out from the whole "water break" thing!!!

But, after an emergency c-section, my beautiful baby boy was finally here.
He has been such a blessing to my life, as well as everyone who knows him.
I do like to brag, but who wouldn't with a kid like Salem:)
He's smart(beyond my realm), talented, and is a great cook too!(Wonder where he gets that?) He still has a 4.0 GPA, and has a weighted down schedule, just with clubs and community service events:) Student Council, YouthAct/InterAct, BETA, TSA, ArtClub, M.T.S.U. METS, just to name a few, plus Heritage Alliance & Relay for Life, now he's helping out with his Aunt Darlene's campaign! Last month, Salem proposed to his fellow Student Council members, that since April is Autism Awareness Month, they should do a fundraiser at WCMS to raise funds for Vanderbilt's Research Center at TRIAD. I spoke with Randi over the weekend, and she is so excited about it, and asked me to help out with the project. Yesterday, Salem said they were going to sell "puzzle" pieces and connect them to make one Big puzzle piece to present to Vandy:) Salem, You AMAZE me!!!
He rarely ever complains, especially when he is helping me with his brother Carter J. I think sometimes, he knows Carter's routine better than I do:)
He helps keep me grounded through all my "chaos", and loves to laugh at my "craziness"!!!

He's my biggest fan, and I am his:) Not only is he my son, but he's my best-friend too:)
I hope he has a great day at school today, even though it's going to be a long one. He had to be there at 7a.m. for a TSA meeting, then has YouthAct from 3-4p.m......so we will party late this afternoon:) Happy Birthday Salem, I love you so!!!

CONNOR IS "3".....

This past Saturday, we celebrated CONNOR'S 3rd birthday! Kirby asked me last week if I would make his cupcakes and cookies for the party. Since EVERYONE in my family has Disney on the brain---I think Connor picked the perfect theme for his birthday party!!! Mickey Mouse sugar cookies and simple homemade vanilla cupcakes with homemade vanilla frosting in red & yellow matched up perfectly with the beautiful MICKEY cake that my sweet REGAN ANNE made. She did an AWESOME job on the cake and she did it all by hand, YOU GO GIRL!!! (I've found a business partner within the family!haha)
